CULINARIO – For the love of spaghetti

I want to start off by giving you a little background story about our Culinario cutlery series. Due to my Italian heritage, I’ve had the chance to familiarize myself with two very different food cultures. When it comes to flavors, spices, and ingredients, Finnish food culture is very simplified, when Italian food culture is pretty much the opposite. This has been a blessing that I have taken full advantage of as I have dug deeper into the wonderful world of cooking. Spaghetti, and all kinds of pasta dishes, have always been our family’s favorites, but I often said to my husband Rolf, that the Finnish cutlery is far too light to eat pasta. I wanted to introduce a cutlery series to our selection, which would fit this need, and this is how the Culinario series was born.

I got my wish and we launched a cutlery series which consisted of five spoons, three forks, and two knives. A perfect fork for pasta is one that feels like it was designed for pasta lovers. Easy to grip, perfect weight distribution, and beautiful to look at. Culinario series also has the best knife for cutting bistecca (steak) and a perfect dessert spoon to enjoy tiramisu. All the items have a timeless design, which you could see in restaurants whether you’re in New Tork or Rome. On top of the beautiful design, the material is high-quality Outokumpu steel. Outokumpu Core austenitic stainless steel delivers corrosion resistance, formability, and optimum thickness for making high-quality cutlery with a ‘heavier’ feel

The Culinario series was launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of HEIROL, a Finnish family business that humbly started out in a garage back in 1991. Today it is one of Finland’s leading importers and manufacturers of high-quality kitchen utensils.

My husband and I are trying to gradually change the way Finnish people think about eating. We always dine together with our four kids, and our mission is to get Finns to eat together more often and prepare good food together as a family – with good-quality utensils.
