3 must-try drinks this summer

We were wondering what to make for our friend when they come to our place to celebrate Vappu and as I had just got our new drinkware home we decided to make different cocktails! And of course we had to try them before the occasion… 🙂

We made three different cocktails and they turned out perfect! Super summery, fresh and most importantly easy to make. We’re definitely not experts in drink making but maybe we will be after the Summer! These drinks will be on repeat in our kitchen throughout the Summer!

ELDERFLOWER COCKTAIL

Elderflower juice
Sparkling water
Prosecco (dry)
Lemon rind

Place ice cubes in a glass. Add one lemon rind to each glass. Add about 3 cl elderflower juice. Add some sparkling water and top with Prosecco. Decorate with eatable flowers.

Psst! You can add eatable flowers to the ice cubes with water and they’ll freeze beautifully!

PEACH, STRAWBERRY & BASIL SUMMER SANGRIA

1 bottle chilled Prosecco or Cava
4 cl Cointreau
Strawberries
1-2 peaches
1 cup/250 ml sparkling water
Basil leaves
Ice

Pour the sparkling water into a pitcher, add Cointreau, sparkling water, sliced fruits and basil. Stir and serve with ice.

RHUBARB BASIL MARGARITA

Rhubarb Basil Simple Syrup

250 ml water
2,5 dl sugar
2,5 dl chopped rhubarb
basil leaves

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until rhubarb completely falls apart.
Press mixture through a sieve and cool.

Margarita (1 cocktail)

Tarvitset: shaker, jalallinen lasi, viinamitta

4 cl tequila
6 cl Rhubarb Basil Simple Syrup
85 ml lime juice
Ice

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain over ice. Garnish with rhubarb and basil leaves.

Cheers to summer!
