HEIROL Blacksteel is a professional grade black carbon steel pan where thoughtful design, trustworthy quality and features that take home cooking to another level collide.

The special treated black carbon steel makes for excellent non-stick qualities and better corrosion resistance than in normal carbon steel pans. Blacksteel pans are treated with nitride, after which they are heated up in the oven using nitrogen dioxide, causing for the black oxide layer to form. The Blacksteel pans are also pre-seasoned with vegetable oil, which further improves the corrosion resistance of the pans.

The pans’ non-stick qualities only get better over time with use. The 3 mm thick body won’t bend in even the toughest use. The pans are made to withstand high temperatures and they are suitable on all stoves, oven, grill and even open fire. You can also use stainless steel utensils with the pan! The long handle is riveted for ultimate durability. The pan heats up extremely quickly and it has excellent and energy efficient heat conductivity.

How to use your Blacksteel pan:


– put the pan on a stove and turn on the heat. You can check whether the pan is hot with a few drops of water; the drops will ”dance” on the pan once it’s hot
– add a generous amount of butter or oil on the hot pan
– NOTE! The pan will heat up extremely quickly compared to other pans, especially when using an induction stove
– Let the food fry in peace and allow the food to form a crisp surface before turning it. This way it won’t stick to the pan and will cook properly. In case you want to keep cooking the food, turn down the heat once the desired crispness is achieved on both sides. This way the food will cook from the inside in peace until done (i.e., meat or chicken)
– Let the frying pan cool off before washing
– Wash the pan with hot water and a dish brush or a sponge, DO NOT use dishwashing liquid or wash in the dishwasher. Do not soak the pan.
– Dry the pan carefully

The importance of seasoning a black carbon steel pan
Natural nonstick effect: Repeatedly heating butter/oil on the pan creates a thin layer that helps prevent food from sticking.

Enhanced flavours: A well-seasoned pan develops a patina over time, which adds depth and richness to the flavors of your food. It imparts a unique, seasoned taste that enhances your cooking.

Corrosion resistance: Seasoning helps protect the carbon steel surface from rust and corrosion. The oil coating acts as a barrier, preventing moisture from coming into direct contact with the carbon steel and causing it to oxidize.

Improved durability: Regular seasoning helps maintain the longevity of the pan. It helps prevent the formation of rust and extends the lifespan of the cookware.

How to season a carbon steel pan:
– wash the pan in boiling hot water with a dish brush
– DO NOT USE dishwashing liquid
– dry the pan carefully
– add a few teaspoons of vegetable oil and spread with a paper towel (i.e., sunflower oil, linseed oil or grape seed oil)
– heat until the pan starts to smoke, let it smoke for a few minutes. Make sure to have good ventilation
– set the pan aside and let it cool off enough to wipe off the excess oil with a paper towel
– wash the pan again with only hot water, dry the pan thoroughly and store

The pan has now been “re-seasoned” to create a natural non-stick surface.
