Moka Express is ecological, as it only produces biodegradable waste. Once your coffee is done, you can throw the used coffee grounds into your biowaste bin, or you can use them as manure for your plants! When you are cleaning your Moka Express pot, only use water, no soap.

The original Bialetti Moka Express pot, a classic since 1933. Made from aluminum, which makes it suitable for all stovetops except induction. Moka Express ensures that your coffee will be rich in flavor and if you close your eyes, it might just take you to Italy.

How to use the Moka pot:

Fill the bottom section with water, all the way up to valve.

Place the funnel in its place and fill it evenly with ground espresso coffee. Do not pack the coffee too tight, as the coffee rises into the pot portion due to pressure, and won’t be able to if the ground coffee is packed too tightly. Place the pot on the stovetop and turn on the power. When the water starts boiling and coffee starts rising into the top portion, you may lower the power. Pour a cup, leave the pot to cool down, and go enjoy your coffee.

Rinse all the parts of the pot with warm water, do not use soap, and leave the parts to dry separately. After use, do not leave the pan unwashed for too long, but wash it when it has cooled down. When left for too long, the pot will tighten up and may be hard to get open.

The handle on the pot is not meant to be used to twist the pot open. The handle may break if twisted too hard. Open the Moka pot by holding on to the water tank and pot portions and twist to open.

Your Moka pot will be your friend forever if you remember the following tips:
1. Wash the pot after each use and only use water – do not use soap.

2. Dry properly. If you assemble the pot when it is still damp, the pot may become brittle.

3. Pack the coffee lightly into the funnel, do not pack/press the coffee too tight.

4. Fill the water tank up to the mark found in the tank.

5. Screw the top and bottom together – make sure it is properly closed but do not over tighten. Do not use/twist handle to tighten.

6. The coffee will begin to come out and you will hear a puffing sound and see a rich-brown stream that will get progressively lighter in color. Once the stream is the color of yellow honey, remove from heat source with hot pads and close the lid.

7. Replace the filter regularly. An old filter will become brittle and hard over time.
